6” Webb Type Conveyor

General Features

  • Generally, Webb type suspended conveyors, which are frequently used in various industries that require heavy-duty and do not need precise transportation, hold an important place in today’s technology.
  • They are preferred conveyor systems due to their robustness, simple structure, and low maintenance requirements.
  • It works on the principle that trolleys mounted on chains driven by a drive unit carry suspended loads by moving along NPI profiles.
  • Due to their structure, the chains are suitable for horizontal movements on the x and y axes as well as vertical movements on the z axis.
  • Horizontal turns are produced in different sizes and angles in pulley and roller types, while vertical turns vary in diameter and angles depending on trolley distances.
  • In these systems, the chains consist of three parts called side link, middle link, and pin, which are manufactured from high carbon steel using hot forging method.
  • Since the chain links are connected to each other without rivets, their assembly and disassembly are quite easy.
  • Trolleys consist of two symmetrical bodies to which carrying plates are connected and bearings are mounted on them.
  • The bearings are special type conveyor bearings that can operate at 200 ºC. The bodies are manufactured from high carbon steel using hot forging method.
  • Trolley bearings are lubricated through grease fittings located on the bodies.
  • Drive units are divided into two main groups: caterpillars that provide movement on a straight rail, or angled types mounted on a turning rail. There are fixed and floating construction alternatives of different powers for caterpillar type drive groups.
  • Similarly, angled drive groups also have different types and powers for 90º and 180º turns, both fixed and tensioned.
  • Our production program includes 3”, 4”, and 6” Webb type conveyor systems.
  • The type of conveyor to be used is determined by considering the weight of the maximum unit load and the status of the circulation plan.
  • In all systems, connecting two trolleys with a bar doubles the maximum unit load carrying capacity.

Technical Specifications

6” (TR678): These systems are named as such due to the chain pitches being close to 6”.

Trolleys mounted on the chain can move on NPI 160 – 180 profile.

The unit load carrying capacity of the trolleys is 400 Kg, and the chain’s breaking strength is 38500 Kg.

Since trolleys can only be connected to the middle links of the chains, the intermediate distances can be determined as 12” and its multiples.
