ErichHahn HPDU is designed for the continuous pumping of heavy oil at temperatures not exceeding 200°C and viscosities between 20 and 1000 cSt.
Advantages of ErichHahn HPDU
There are many different models of ErichHahn HPDU available. Their designs and components are similar but differ in capacity, overall dimensions, and components.
Purpose of Use
The unit consists of a 3 or 4 outlet manifold, gear pump, gear motor, heavy oil filter, control panel, oil heating system, and thermal insulation. All equipment is compactly mounted on a frame.
3 or 4 Outlet Manifold
It distributes oil product flows to three or four outlets depending on the design of the unit.
An Automatic Process Control System (APCS) controls the flow remotely using electric actuated butterfly valves.
Gear Pump
The internal gear rotary pump is designed for pumping heavy oil.
The pump provides a continuous flow to reduce the vibration level and foaming of the pumped oil.
The pump has an integrated safety valve for protection against overpressure.
Heavy Oil Filter
The filter is designed to remove mechanical impurities from the pumped product. The operating temperature does not exceed 200°C.
The filter consists of a filter housing, a removable cover, and a filter element.
Control Panel
The operation panel of the control panel contains controls and indicators related to the operation of the unit.
The control panel is connected to the central control panel for communication with the frequency converter.
It can be used to control the electric actuated gate valves, start the pump, and adjust the speed settings.
The basic process parameters of the pump, the status of the gate valves, the presence of electrical grid power, and standby mode are indicated.
Automation
The automation system of HPDU units uses remote I/O stations and is located in a heated and ventilated control panel (optionally equipped with a PLC processor module).
It is used to control a frequency converter motor. Remote control is carried out via a SCADA system or Profinet I/O (optionally Modbus TCP/RTU) protocol.
Additionally, local mode control can be done directly from the control panel.
Heating and Insulation
The pump and filter are heated with a thermal oil heating system.
All units are covered with high-density thermal wool insulation and removable protective coatings.
HPDU Gear Motor
The gear motor owned by the manufacturer is designed to transfer and convert rotary motion to the gear pump through a flexible coupling.
The frequency converter in the power equipment cabinet is designed to start the pump unit and change its performance.
