3-33mm Plate Welding Edge Opening Machines

We have developed Graebener® profile welding edge opening machines for optimal welding seam preparation in shipbuilding profiles. These machines are suitable for all common (shipbuilding) steel types and can be used flexibly and cost-effectively for various profile shapes – for example, Dutch profiles, T profiles, flat steels, angle irons. Overview

When manufacturing large ship deck sections, “reinforcement” profiles are placed and welded in the relevant sections of the deck to hold the panels in place. In order to join the reinforcement profiles by laser or laser-hybrid welding method, the profile edges must first be prepared. For this purpose, we have developed Graebener® profile welding edge opening machines that reliably process the profile edge of plates delivered from the rolling mill with a certain round shape.

Machine Concepts

Graebener® profile welding edge opening machines should no longer be seen as standard solutions. As a manufacturer of custom machines, we have been experts in machine concepts for years, taking into account the constantly increasing requirements in welding seam preparation quality. These concepts are tailored to your individual needs, as well as the materials used.

Graebener® profile milling machines are designed for integration into a profile production line and work on the principle that the workpiece moves along the machine rather than the milling head moving along the workpiece. In this way, you can transport the reinforcements to a fully automatic reinforcement installation after processing.
