The purpose in drying rooms is to ensure the moisture is homogeneously separated from the product. After harvest, grain corn contains approximately % 20-25 moisture (humidity). For corn to be suitable for storage, the moisture content must be reduced to % 15-16 levels. The fundamental principle in the drying steps is to process the grain carefully. This is done to prevent changes that would reduce the quality of the finished product and to maximize the efficiency of conversion processes following conditioning processes.
