Dust Collection Centrifugal Dust Transfer Fan

Dust transfer fans are the most important equipment in dust collection systems. When selecting dust transfer fans, many factors should be considered, such as the type of dust, the specific weight of the dust, the particle size of the dust, static pressure losses in the ducts and within the unit (if there are pressure losses from intermediate equipment), the explosion risk of the dust, humidity, temperature, and more.

Centrifugal radial fans are used in dust collection systems. These fans can be used as low, medium, or high pressure depending on the project and application.

When selecting centrifugal fans, the following points should be considered;

  • There are three types of fans: direct coupled, belt pulley driven, and with couplings

  • They can be produced as low, medium, and high pressure

  • It should be placed at the last point of the duct system

  • A fan with as few blades as possible should be used

  • In the transportation of explosive and flammable gases, precautions against sparks and explosions should be taken in the fan blades and electric motors.

  • In the discharge of corrosive dust and gases, necessary precautions should be taken against corrosion formation in the fan.
