Description

Economizer

Universal Boiler

GENERAL FEATURES

It is manufactured in different designs according to the usage conditions and the properties of the fuel burned. Economizers are made from seamless straight pipes, finned pipes, 316L stainless steel pipes; with straight pipes, in a fork shape finned pipe, either with or without reserve, depending on the usage conditions.

In boilers burning coal and fuel oil, the water must enter the economizer at a minimum temperature of 70°C. Otherwise, corrosion occurs at the inlet point. The flue gas leaving the economizer should not be less than 180°C for sulfurous coal, 160°C for fuel oil, and 120°C for natural gas in a non-condensing economizer.

In gas-fired boilers, using a condensing economizer can increase the boiler efficiency by up to 15.7%.

For a Scotch type steam boiler operating at 6 bar pressure, the flue gas temperature leaving the boiler at full load is 210°C, and the recovery (fuel savings) values obtained at different temperatures of the flue gas leaving the economizer placed behind the boiler.

In natural gas combustion, the flue gas temperature is reduced to 120°C by the combustion air heater added to the oil boiler, while the combustion air temperature can be increased to 250°C. The boiler efficiency increases by 11.5%.

DESIGN

In steam boilers, hot oil boilers, glass or similar melting or drying furnaces, and cogeneration plants, recovery is achieved by heating the boiler feed water, heating water, hot usage water, and process water through the hot gases discharged into the chimney; or by heating the combustion air, ambient air, and process air. It should be noted that every 20°C reduction in the temperature of the hot flue gas discharged into the chimney increases the device efficiency by 1%.
