Description

Npt-Unf-Orfs Elbows and T Connectors

NPT, "National Pipe Tapered" (National Conical Pipe) female, is a pipe connection standard widely used in the United States. NPT female has a conical thread structure designed to provide leakage protection for pipe connections. Thanks to the conical thread structure, when the connection is tightened, the threads seat against each other providing a leak-proof seal.

NPT Elbows

  • Function: NPT elbows are used to change the direction of pipe lines at angles such as 90° or 45° to change the route of the pipe line. Provides safe and leak-proof connections with NPT threads.

  • Material and Durability: NPT elbows are generally made of materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and copper. These elbows must be resistant to high pressure while changing the direction of pipe lines.

  • Areas of Use: NPT elbows are commonly used in sanitary installations, gas lines, industrial pipe systems, and liquid transport lines. They are preferred especially in systems requiring high pressure and leakage resistance.

NPT T Connectors

  • Function: NPT T connectors provide a three-way connection to the pipe line. Adding two side pipes to a main pipe creates a connection in the shape of a "T". With NPT threads, this connection is also leak-proof and robust.

  • Material and Durability: NPT T connectors are usually made of the same materials and provide secure connections in high-pressure environments.

  • Areas of Use: NPT T connectors are used in water, gas, oil, and chemical pipe systems. They are also commonly preferred in sanitary installations.

2. UNF (Unified National Fine) Elbows and T Connectors

UNF, "Unified National Fine" female, is generally known for its finer thread structures. UNF female is preferred in places where precise connections are required and in systems that use finer threads.

UNF Elbows

  • Function: UNF elbows are used to change the direction of pipe lines at specific angles, usually at 90° and 45°. They are used to provide a tight and smooth connection at the junction of UNF threaded pipes.

  • Material and Durability: UNF elbows are generally made of aluminum, stainless steel, or steel. Due to their fine thread structure, these connections are particularly used in systems requiring precise and secure leak-proofing.

  • Areas of Use: UNF elbows are commonly used in automotive, aerospace, hydraulic systems, and other industrial systems requiring fine threaded connections.

UNF T Connectors

  • Function: UNF T connectors create connections in the shape of a "T" by joining three pipe lines. This connection is achieved by attaching both side pipes to the main pipe.

  • Material and Durability: UNF T connectors are generally made of durable steel and stainless steel materials. The fine thread structure ensures precision and leak-proofing at connection points.

  • Areas of Use: UNF T connectors are used in automotive industry, aerospace and space industry, and industrial systems requiring high precision.

3. ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal) Elbows and T Connectors

ORFS, "O-Ring Face Seal" connection system, is commonly used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. ORFS connections provide sealing on the surfaces of connection elements using O-rings. This connection type ensures safe and effective sealing in high-pressure systems.

ORFS Elbows

  • Function: ORFS elbows are used to change the direction of pipe lines. ORFS elbows, which change the direction of the pipe at angles of 90° or 45°, are designed with O-ring sealing technology.

  • Material and Durability: ORFS elbows are made of materials resistant to high pressure. These connections are used in environments where liquid sealing is required, especially in hydraulic systems.

  • Areas of Use: ORFS elbows are widely used in hydraulic systems, heavy machinery equipment, automotive sector, construction machinery, and industrial systems.

ORFS T Connectors

  • Function: ORFS T connectors create connections in the shape of a "T" by joining three pipe lines. Provides a safe and leak-proof connection with O-ring sealing technology.

  • Material and Durability: ORFS T connectors are made of durable materials (usually steel or stainless steel) and are suitable for systems under hydraulic pressure.

  • Areas of Use: ORFS T connectors are commonly used in high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems, heavy industrial machinery, automotive sector, and marine applications.

Differences Between NPT, UNF, and ORFS Elbows and T Connectors

  • Thread Structure:

    • NPT (National Pipe Tapered): Conical thread structure provides sealing. Generally used in pipe line connections.

    • UNF (Unified National Fine): Fine thread structure provides more precise and smooth connections. Often used in industries requiring finer threads.

    • ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal): Sealing is provided with O-rings, ensuring safe connections in high-pressure systems.

  • Areas of Use:

    • NPT: Sanitary installations, gas lines, industrial pipe systems, oil and gas transmission lines.

    • UNF: Automotive, aerospace, precision industrial systems.

    • ORFS: Hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, heavy industrial machinery.

  • Sealing: ORFS connections provide sealing with O-rings, NPT threads provide sealing with their conical structure, and UNF, with its finer threads, is generally used in more precise connections.
